About

Scott Tanner
I began playing the violin at the age of 4 years old and began my journey in Fort Worth, Texas. As life-long student of the violin, I grew up in the Suzuki method and was exposed to a variety of teachers who helped shaped me into the teacher I am today. I’ve also gained so much enjoyment from music, especially once I started playing in my 6th grade orchestra. After graduating from high school, I knew that music needed to play a big part of my life and so I continued my schooling to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a Master of Arts degree in Violin Performance with Emphasis in Suzuki Pedagogy. From my rich life experience as student and educator, I’ve learned first-hand the benefits of music development for the. mind, body and soul.
A Professional Violin teacher
I’ve had the great opportunity to have taught violin in Utah for over 30 years and my life has been blessed by having touched the lives of countless number of students from across the state. I currently run a studio in Layton, Utah and always look forward to meeting and working with new students of all ages and backgrounds. And with current technology, I’m excited to explore new opportunities of teaching violin via on-line thereby meeting other violin students from around the country and world.
